What is a Pregnancy Calculator?
A Pregnancy Calculator is an online tool that estimates your pregnancy timeline based on your Last Menstrual Period (LMP) or your conception date. Doctors also use the same method to track your pregnancy progress.
A standard pregnancy lasts for about 40 weeks or 280 days from the first day of your last period. The calculator adds 40 weeks to your LMP to give you a complete pregnancy report. With our calculator, you can find out:
- Your Expected Delivery Due Date
- How many weeks and months pregnant you are
- Your current trimester
- Your estimated conception date
- Important milestones like when you will hear your baby's heartbeat and when you will feel the first kick
How is Due Date Calculated?
Our Pregnancy Calculator works on Naegele’s Rule, which is the most trusted formula used by doctors worldwide.
The Formula is: Last Menstrual Period (LMP) + 280 Days = Expected Due Date
For example, if the first day of your last period was January 1st, your expected due date would be around October 8th.
Note: Only about 5% of babies are born on their exact due date. A normal delivery can happen anywhere between 37 to 42 weeks.
How to Use Our Pregnancy Calculator?
Using our tool is very simple. Just follow these steps:

Understanding the Three Trimesters of Pregnancy
Pregnancy is divided into three trimesters, each with its own developments and challenges:
First Trimester (Week 1 to Week 12):
This is the most crucial stage. Your baby's brain, spinal cord, and vital organs start to develop. You may experience morning sickness, fatigue, mood swings, and breast tenderness. This is the time to start taking folic acid and prenatal vitamins.
Second Trimester (Week 13 to Week 27):
This is often called the honeymoon period of pregnancy. Morning sickness usually fades, your energy returns, and you will start to show a baby bump. You will feel your baby's first movements (quickening) around week 18-20. Your baby's eyebrows, eyelashes, and hair start to grow.
Third Trimester (Week 28 to Week 40):
The final stage. Your baby gains weight rapidly, and his lungs and bones mature. You may feel back pain, swelling in your legs, and difficulty sleeping as your body prepares for labor. Your baby will move into the head-down position for birth.
Our calculator tells you exactly which trimester you are in and what to expect.

When Should You Consult a Doctor?

FAQs...
How accurate is the Pregnancy Calculator for due date?
Our Pregnancy Calculator uses Naegele's Rule, the same formula doctors use, so it is 95% accurate for women with a regular 28-day cycle. However, the exact due date can only be confirmed by an early ultrasound (6-9 weeks) by your doctor. Only 5% of babies are born on the exact due date, normal delivery can happen between 37 to 42 weeks.
Can I calculate my pregnancy due date from conception date?
Yes. If you know your conception date, just add 266 days (38 weeks) to it to get your due date. If you don't know the conception date, you can use your Last Menstrual Period (LMP) and add 280 days (40 weeks). Our calculator does both calculations automatically.
Why does the doctor calculate pregnancy from LMP and not from conception date?
Most women don't know the exact date of conception, but they remember their last period date. Ovulation and conception happen about 14 days after LMP. Therefore, counting from LMP is the standard medical practice worldwide to maintain a uniform 40-week timeline.
